Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we hear most, before we begin working together.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance, which protects your privacy and avoids a required mental-health diagnosis on your record. You can use an HSA or FSA card for therapy and counseling. We also reserve a limited number of sliding-scale spots each quarter, so please ask if cost is a barrier.
How much do sessions cost?
Psychotherapy, counseling, and sex therapy are $170 to $200 for a 50-minute session. Functional herbology, reiki, and professional consultation are $175. Every new client starts with a free 15-minute consultation.
What types of therapy and counseling do you offer?
We offer integrative psychotherapy and counseling for individuals, couples therapy, and relational therapy for polyamorous and other relationship structures. Our approach blends psychodynamic, somatic, and experiential methods with sex therapy, all through an inclusive, decolonizing lens. Every plan is tailored to you rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
What is the difference between sex therapy and sex coaching?
Sex therapy is clinical mental-health care provided under a Colorado license, so it is available to Colorado residents. Sex coaching is educational and skills-based, is not therapy, and is available to clients anywhere. If you live outside Colorado, coaching is how we can work together.
Do you work with clients outside Colorado?
For psychotherapy and sex therapy, we serve clients across Colorado by telehealth. For coaching, functional herbology consultations, and our online dispensary, we work with clients nationally and internationally.
What is functional herbology, and is it the same as therapy?
Functional herbology is individualized support using herbal medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle, drawing on East and West botanical traditions. It is not psychotherapy and not a substitute for medical care. We assess and suggest; we do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. It can run alongside therapy or on its own.
Are you LGBTQ, queer, kink, and non-monogamy affirming?
Yes. We are an inclusive, queer- and LGBTQ-affirming practice. We actively welcome LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent folx, people living a kink or BDSM lifestyle, and those practicing polyamory, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), and other forms of non-monogamy. Your identity and relationships are honored here, free of shame.
What does "decolonizing mental health" mean?
It means integrative psychotherapy and counseling that is not limited to Western talk therapy. We weave in ancestral wisdom, somatic and experiential work, herbal medicine, and a multicultural lens so the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) is supported. The goal is to reduce shame and make room for joy.
What concerns can sex therapy help with?
Common reasons people come in include mismatched desire, difficulty with orgasm or arousal, pain with sex, postpartum sexual wellness, and healing from betrayal or sexual trauma. People also come to explore kink, polyamory, or ethical non-monogamy (ENM) with support. If part of your erotic life feels stuck or shameful, it is welcome here.
What happens in the free 15-minute consultation?
It is a no-pressure call to see if we are a good fit. You share a little about what brings you in, ask any questions, and we talk through how we might work together. There is no obligation to continue.
